Suanbo is known for its hot spring baths and for its skiing. It is a large tourist village - there's not really much else but tourist facilities - hotels and baths and restaurants. Suanbo is part of Chungju city.
It's a very pleasant place - fresh air - close to the countryside - not generally crowded.
Nearest trains are in Chungju to the north, and in Jeomchon to the south.
Intercity bus terminal has buses to and from Seoul, Seongnam, Daegu, Jeomchon, Andong, Cheongju, etc... Local buses also stop here.
The Chungju city bus system runs buses to Suanbo. Some go on to Mireuksa and a few continue further to Songye Valley. Buses stop at the intercity terminal, also on the main street at the upper end of town.
Public markets ( 시 장 )Edit
There's no daily public market in Suanbo. There is a five-day market which runs on days ending in 2 or 7. It's on streets in the middle of town - not a very big one.
