Cheonan (천안 - 天安) is the home of the museum devoted to showing Japanese atrocities during occupation.

It is also a major hub of transport. The city boasts a flourishing ESL community within the Ssanyong Dong (쌍용동) district and is recognized as the birth of the Korean Independence Movement (독립운동).

Since January 2005 it has been to connected to Seoul through the line 1 subway and costs somewhere around 2400 won for a one-way trip.
