Cheonan (천안 - 天安) is the home of the museum devoted to showing Japanese atrocities during occupation.

It is also a major hub of transport. The city boasts a flourishing ESL community within the Ssanyong Dong (쌍용동) district and is recognized as the birth of the Korean Independence Movement (독립운동).
